  2. Too Late the Hero is the fifth solo studio album by English singer-songwriter John Entwistle, bassist for The Who. It was released on ATCO Records in the United States, and WEA in the United Kingdom.
  3. John Entwistle's solo career has never been particularly outstanding in terms of songwriting quality. His complicated, yet rhythmic bass playing has always shone through, however. This is also the case with Too Late the Hero. Lyrically, the album is weak, to say the least. Musically, it's impressive, but makes for a rather unspectacular listen.

  6. John Entwistle. This album really shows The Ox at the height of his creative powers. The album has more of a Who (Are You era) sound (featuring synthesizers and "sweet" distorted guitars) than his previous solo work and as a result has a more accomplished feel to it.
  7. John Entwistle. Too Late The Hero. Year Released: Notch cut on cover and on part of original sleeve. Format: Stereo / LP. LP Quantity: 1. Vinyl Condition: Mint-. Catalog #: SD
  8. Favorite tracks are "Try me" which starts off the album in stellar fashion, "Sleeping Man", "Fallen Angel", and the epic "Too late the hero" title track. This song should have been a hit back in the day. Probably Entwistle's best chance at a commercial solo hit/5(16).
